India: In an impressive showcase of innovation, outstanding design, and improved hygiene standards, TOTO is excited to share that its flagship smart toilet, NEOREST, has surpassed 4 million units shipped globally as of March 2025.

What started in 1993 as a bold initiative to “redefine the conventional concept of toilets” has evolved into a groundbreaking product category. Over the years, NEOREST has continuously challenged norms by blending state-of-the-art technology with minimalist design, earning prestigious accolades such as the iF Design Award, Red Dot, and Green Good Design Awards. Today, NEOREST stands as one of TOTO’s flagship products, widely utilized not only in Japan but across the globe. Furthermore, by July 2024, the total number of WASHLET-integrated toilets shipped since their introduction in 1987 has surpassed 13 million units, including NEOREST.

Breaking free from traditional notions of what a toilet can be, TOTO integrated all its innovative technologies to initiate the NEOREST development project. The goal was to create a next-generation toilet that delivers exceptional satisfaction to customers, both in functionality and design. Consequently, TOTO became the first company in the industry to create a tankless toilet featuring an integrated WASHLET.

From its revolutionary tankless design to sophisticated smart features such as EWATER+, self-cleaning, RIMLESS, CEFIONTECT glaze, TORNADO FLUSH, AIR-IN WONDER-WAVE, and automatic lid operation, NEOREST has redefined what a toilet can be—smart yet sustainable. The introduction of EWATER+ in 2011 marked a major leap in hygiene, using electrolyzed water to clean both the wand and bowl.
