Attari Border, India : In a historic and emotionally charged event, Main Vaapas Aaunga etched its name in history as music maestro A.R. Rahman delivered his first-ever live performance at the iconic Attari Border Post. The special tribute, titled “Jai Ho – A Musical Salute to the Bravehearts,” was held during the renowned Beating Retreat Ceremony and honored the unwavering courage and sacrifice of the Border Security Force (BSF) and India’s armed forces.

Thousands of visitors gathered at the JCP Stadium, where patriotism, gratitude, and national pride filled the atmosphere. The landmark event transformed the Attari Border into a stage of unity, music, and remembrance, creating unforgettable memories for all present.

The occasion held special significance for Main Vaapas Aaunga, an upcoming cinematic journey set against the backdrop of the Partition of India. The film explores stories of love, separation, and longing that emerged from one of the largest migrations in human history, emphasizing how love remains the enduring force that transcends borders and generations.

The evening commenced with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, Ananya Birla of Birla Studios, actor Vedang Raina, and producer Mohit Choudhary of Window Seat Films welcoming the audience and expressing heartfelt gratitude to the BSF. The team dedicated the film’s forthcoming music album to the courage and sacrifice of India’s armed forces personnel.

A.R. Rahman opened the musical tribute with the soulful “Chanda Suraj Lakhon Taare,” followed by performances from the world of Main Vaapas Aaunga. The audience witnessed energetic renditions of the film’s songs, including “Maskara,” performed by Nilanjana Ghosh and Vedang Raina, and “Ishq Mastana,” sung by Mohit Chauhan alongside Pooja Tiwari and Nargis. The evening concluded on a stirring note with Rahman’s iconic anthem “Maa Tujhe Salaam,” leaving the audience deeply moved and united in national pride.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali said, “This performance is an ode to the national spirit, to our bravehearts on the border, the BSF and the Indian Army, and to the spirit of solidarity and love that binds us all. It is magical that this event is around Main Vaapas Aaunga, a film that originates from the making of the border during the Partition of 1947. We bring a message of love because, ultimately, only love sustains us.”

Main Vaapas Aaunga stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina in pivotal roles. The film features music by A.R. Rahman and lyrics by Irshad Kamil. Produced by Birla Studios, Applause Entertainment, and Window Seat Films, the film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on June 12, 2026, with music released under Tips Music.
