Mumbai: Emphasising the growing strength of India’s indigenous defence ecosystem, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh stated that self-reliance in defence manufacturing is emerging as a crucial pillar in achieving the vision of a “Viksit Bharat.”

Addressing the Bramha Research Foundation event in Mumbai, the senior Indian Air Force officer highlighted the significant contribution of indigenous systems in the success of Operation Sindoor. He said India’s homegrown defence capabilities enabled swift operational effectiveness and strengthened the nation’s strategic preparedness.

“Atmanirbharta in Defence is an important pillar for us to achieve our vision of Viksit Bharat. Indigenous systems helped us achieve operational success in Operation Sindoor,” Air Marshal Tejinder Singh said during his address.

Highlighting the future of India’s aviation and defence manufacturing sector, he expressed confidence that private companies and MSMEs would increasingly collaborate with the armed forces to develop advanced defence technologies and equipment under various government-backed initiatives.

The Air Marshal also underlined India’s expanding potential in defence exports, stating that the country is well-positioned to increase exports manyfold in the coming years as domestic innovation and manufacturing capacities continue to grow.

Referring to Operation Sindoor, he described it as a decisive and swift mission where objectives were achieved successfully, forcing the adversary to seek cessation of hostilities on India’s terms.

The remarks reinforce India’s broader push towards defence indigenisation, strategic self-reliance, and strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
