NIFT Admissions 2026 Begin: Registration Now Open for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Lateral Entry, Artisans, and Ph.D. Programs

Gandhinagar :Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Sood, Director of NIFT Campus Gandhinagar, has announced the commencement of the admission process for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Examination 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the registration window for NIFTEE 2026 starting 08 December 2025, inviting applications for all programs across 20 NIFT campuses in India.

Important Dates and Registration Details

  • Candidates aiming for admission in the academic session 2026-27 can register online at the official portal exams.nta.nic.in/niftee.
  • The deadline to apply without a late fee is 06 January 2026.
  • Applications can be submitted until 10 January 2026 with a late fee of ₹5,000.
  • A correction window will be available from 12–14 January 2026.

Examination Details : Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Sood has informed that the entrance examination will take place on 08 February 2026 (Sunday) in over 100 cities, available in both Computer-Based (CBT) and Pen-and-Paper (PBT) formats. The test structure comprises:

  • General Ability Test (GAT)
  • Creative Ability Test (CAT)
  • Situation Test for B.Des candidates
  • Personal Interview (PI) for most postgraduate programs

Additionally, Ph.D. applicants will participate in a written test followed by a Research Proposal Presentation and Interview.

Admissions are open for the following programs:

  • Bachelor of Design (B.Des.)
  • Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech)
  • Master of Design (M.Des.)
  • Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech)
  • Master of Fashion Management (MFM)
  • NIFT Lateral Entry Admissions (NLEA)
  • Artisans Category seats
  • Ph.D. programs

Eligibility requirements vary by course:

  • For undergraduate programs, candidates must have passed or be appearing for the Class 12 examination from a recognized board.
  • For postgraduate programs, applicants need to possess a relevant bachelor’s degree, with no upper age limit.
