Ahmedabad : Three students from the Civil Engineering Department at the Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management (IITRAM) in Ahmedabad have achieved an incredible milestone by winning First Prize in the University Challenge India. This prestigious event took place during IFAT India 2025 in Mumbai on October 15–16, 2025.
The triumphant team comprises Ajaat Kaushikeya, Advika Verma, and Aaditya Aaryan, all third-year Civil Engineering students. They showcased their skills against competitors from seven leading institutions across India. The University Challenge India, organized under IFAT India, is a highly regarded competition that inspires young engineers to create innovative and sustainable solutions for water, wastewater, and environmental management.
As a recognition of their achievement, the trio has been selected to join the Young Water Professionals Programme, set to take place from May 4 to 7, 2026, in Munich, Germany, with full sponsorship provided for the programme. IITRAM officials expressed pride in the students’ success, noting that this award highlights the institute’s increasing focus on research-driven, practical education and its commitment to tackling global environmental issues through innovation. This accomplishment not only emphasizes the academic excellence and technical prowess of IITRAM students but also reinforces India’s emerging position in promoting sustainable infrastructure and environmental stewardship on the world stage.
